the LiveSimply award scheme

There was a real buzz at our LiveSimply event on May3rd at Wheeler Hall, Leeds Cathedral.

The event was a real inter-generational affair that also brought together SVP members, CAFOD supporters, J&P supporters and Caritas supporters from parishes across the Diocese from Settle to Bradford to Leeds.

There was no sitting round listening to talks. Rather, the day was given over to workshops with short inputs and much discussion and exploration of ideas. 

LiveSimply is an award scheme managed by CAFOD, but it goes far beyond the core work of that organisation. Parishes or school have to devise their own plan to show how they are going to

Live more sustainably

Live more in solidarity with those experiencing poverty

It provides opportunities for all groups and individuals within a church community to work together towards a common goal – and create a real buzz in their parish as they do so.
