Lyrics to Change the World
On Sunday 6th September,Testament, or Andy Brooks, led a workshop using spoken word, rap and beat boxing to engage discussion and ideas from a group of young adults. This took place at St Augustine’s church in Harehills, Leeds.
Using creative, lyrical writing the group explored ways to express emotions and views about the world we live in. Using all the senses, individuals were surprised by what they achieved in a short space of time. Suddenly a list of words became a poem, a sentence became a rap.
There were several people who discovered talents they hadn’t imagined they had!
We are hopeful that this group of people will continue meeting together to explore more about what is going on in our world – and what they can do about it.
